ENCHANTED BRIDES ~ FALL 2014 / WINTER 2015

table. This idea did not sprout from Pinter-
est, but from our own imaginations.
It is also important to weigh Pinterest
worthy ideas to not only the practicality
of it, but to keep in mind the guests' ex-
perience when planning. We have seen,
for example, a beautiful photo circulating
of butler-passed escort cards with serv-
ers in custom aprons and matching bow-
ties carrying table numbers. That makes
for a darling photo but in actuality, if you
have more than fifty guests, that is a lot of
servers you have to approach as a guest
to find out where you are seated since it
is not in alphabetical order and you would
not know who to approach first.
Other Pinterest-worthy photos have
circulated that have been created for an
inspired photo shoot and may look beau-
tiful, but not be practical for an actual
wedding. For example, we love nothing
more than a beautifully crafted invitation
suite with corresponding array of vintage
stamps. This may be great to gather for
a small batch of invitations, but when you
are mailing out more than a hundred, you
not only need to collect unused postage
stamps that match in color or theme, but
you also collect cost. You may be paying
more than double the value of that actual
postage stamp. A great solution for this
is creating matching beautiful postage
stamps through a custom design site like
Zazzle. Some of our favorites on the site
include designs from Ceci New York and
Momental Designs.
Onward to some of the pros. It might
go without saying, but sharing an image
sometimes speaks more than a thousand
words. We have clients come in and use
buzzwords such as "casually elegant" or
"bohemian chic". There are some occa-
sions when clients misuse these buzz-
words to describe their wedding when
in actuality they mean something else.
Pinterest boards can easily be altered to
each couple. We may start somewhere
with a client, but by the end we arrive
somewhere else.
Another pro is being able to return to
the original source at the click of a but-
ton. For example, when we pin a photo,
instead of having a mirage of images from
a source we cannot remember, we can
easily check back to the original link to
make the purchase of the desired item or
see some of the other details.
Pinterest is another way for us to com-
municate with our clients and followers.
We love all aspects of the planning pro-
cess! Be sure to follow us on our Pinter-
est: JCG Events. Oh, and if you happen to
notice they are arranged in alphabetical
order! Some things never change.
