ENCHANTED BRIDES ~ WINTER / SPRING 2015

see Fall Wedding. They used a burnt orange, a rich yellow, and
pops of deep purple for their fall color palette. By going with
these colors, they could also use the falling golden leaves, white
pumpkins, and mums to enhance their décor.
Another beautiful color to consider for 2015 is the color of
the year, Marsala. This rich red-brown color would be fabulous
for a Fall Wedding!
Once your colors are chosen, the design comes next. Be-
cause nature is vibrant during this time, keep your own décor
to a minimal because you can incorporate a lot of nature's sur-
roundings. For example, you can use leaves on either side of the
aisle along with bright colored chair markers or simple pump-
kins for your ceremony.
I love how Laurie incorporated sweet autumn details through-
out the cocktail and reception space as well from a twiggy
wreath with rich berries to vibrant floral displays on the tables.
Continuing your fall planning, a fall menu is just as scrump-
tious as the décor. When the couple Laurie worked with began
outlining their fall menu, they knew they wanted to utilize fresh
fall produce but also keep southern comfort food in mind. They
worked closely with the catering team of Puckett's Grocery &
Restaurant to design the perfect fall menu. For example, they
had a fall inspired mix salad with pears, roasted beets, candied
walnuts and champagne vinaigrette.
Incorporating fall fruits (apples, cranberries, pears) and
vegetables (butternut squash, zucchini, carrots) into salads is a
simple but delicious way to use fall produce.
A 2015 trend we have been seeing is more of a move to-
wards smaller bites or "mini meals" which Laurie says is a fabu-
lous alternative to your fall reception menu. At this fall wedding,
the couple chose to stick to down home southern cooking. The
menu consisted of Chicken Friend Chicken atop of mashed po-
tatoes then lightly topped with a sawmill gravy and Beef Short
Ribs with horseradish and au jus served with grilled asparagus.
The dessert? Peach Cobbler Shooters!
Fall is a vibrant season and it allows for a vibrant menu as
well so don't shy away! What's another fun way to integrate the
season into your menu? A signature drink! This fall couple had
an Apple Cider Sangria Recipe that was equal parts fresh and
delicious. Laurie also recommends serving a Cranberry Cos-
mopolitan that would be a fun fall festive drink.
When planning your Middle Tennessee Fall Wedding, do
keep the temperature in mind. Nashville can be extremely hot
or frigidly cold come October so always have a backup to deal
with the weather. But of course, no weather could stop your
beautiful fall wedding as the leaves sweetly fall from the trees.
So bundle up and plan away!
