The groomsmen wore elegant white boutonnieres, and the
groom wore a green Cymbidium orchid boutonniere with a dec-
orated silver holder. Bridesmaids wore Malibu blue gowns with
birds of paradise bouquets wrapped in white and blue ribbons.
The bride carried a bouquet of stargazer lilies, and crystals.
The cocktail hour and reception were island tropical-inspired
and paid homage to both the bride's and groom's roots, Hawai-
ian and Jamaican. Guests enjoyed music played on an acoustic
guitar as they nippled on buffalo chicken skewers with Stilton
cheese sauce, goat cheese bruschetta, and jumbo shrimp cock-
tails. "His" and "Her" passed signature drinks were key lime
margaritas and blue passion punch. On the wall was a lighted
"G & J" emblem that guests could pose in front of for photos.
Inside the grand ballroom were dazzling crystal domes sur-
rounded by stargazer lilies, tie-dyed dendrobium orchids, birds
of paradise, and votive candles. Guests entered the reception
to see their names displayed on an illuminated glass seating
chart. Assigned seating at each table was marked by decorative
glass chargers personalized with the name of each guest. These
plates also coupled as a wedding favor for guests, in addition to
the Jamaican Jerk "Love Spice" the bride and groom made for
each guests.
Friends and family members came from long distances to at-
tend the wedding. "The bride's grandparents, uncle, and cous-
in came to America for the first time ever from England," the
couple says. Other guests harked from Hawaii, Jamaica, and all
across the contiguous United States. Jasmine and Gary describe
their day as "magical" and "the best day ever!"
