Andre Coombs at Jackson Memorial Hospital during one of Dr.
Coombs' observership rotations while he was living in Trinidad.
"We met on Wednesday of that week, went on a date Thursday
night along with my best friend, spent the rest of the weekend
falling in love, and then he had to go back to Trinidad that Sun-
day. He returned two weeks later, then three weeks later I went
to visit him, and the rest was history!" Marbel describes. The
couple dated long-distance for two years until Andre moved to
Miami in January 2012.

lowing September. They stayed at the Marriott Marquis in Time
Square, where he proposed in their hotel room on the 35th floor
facing the iconic square. "It was just the two of us, quiet and
romantic," she says.
They planned a September wedding in Coconut Grove. The
design inspiration for the day stemmed from the bride's dia-
mond engagement ring. Décor was modern and elegant but
still welcoming: "We wanted the room to radiate with warmth
and sparkle and make guests feel welcomed." Tables were a
mix of square and round tables, lined with beautiful platinum
Fortuny linens. Acrylic chiavari chairs brought out the icy blue
