uplighting around the room. The platinum napkins were set
at each place setting on top of elegant glass beaded charger
plates, topped with beautifully designed menus matted on shim-
mer silver paper with a Swarovski crystal placed underneath
their monogram. Guest favors were glass paperweight dia-
monds, engraved with the couples' name and wedding date.
Centerpieces were composed of glass cylinders with dia-
mond mesh bands, filled with ivory and blush garden roses,
miniature white roses, hydrangeas, curly willow submerged in
water and phalaenopsis. Small diamond-wrapped votives were
placed around the table along with diamond-shaped acrylic
gems. Some larger centerpieces consisted of tall vases with
hanging crystals and a loose floral arrangement of hydrangeas,
ivory and blush garden roses, white calla lilies, white stock, and
cascading phalaenopsis orchids.
The reception was completely draped with gauzy white fab-
ric. Uplighting and beautifully designed gobos adorned the
room. The couple's monogrammed gobo was placed right in
front of the fountain and marked the center of the dance floor.
The fountain top was decorated with a modern piece of curly
willow adorned with hydrangea balls and crystals.
Tragically before the wedding, Marbel's best friend and maid
of honor was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer
in April of 2012. After fighting a difficult battle for a year, she
passed away on May 5th, 2013. Marbel carried on with wedding
plans, knowing that her friend would not want it any other way.
"After the ceremony, our photographer took us on the streets of
Miracle Mile to get some shots. At one point we were in an alley
and she asked me to walk towards her and stated, `I wish there
was wind to blow your veil.' At that very moment in the midst of
that hot, humid day, my veil started to lift and move in the most
heavenly way and my eyes couldn't believe what they were see-
ing," the bride describes. The amazing shot captured by Martha
was nothing short of angelic, and "there was absolutely no doubt
[that it was her] when I saw the raw footage from the videogra-
pher! It was her way of telling me she was there beside me.".
